HBU Series

Manual box and pan hand brakes for sheet metal bending, available in 48" and 72" models.

Overview

Tennsmith HBU Series Box and Pan Hand Brakes provide an economical solution for a wide range of sheet metal bending and forming applications. The series includes the HBU48-12, capable of bending 12-gauge material, and the HBU72-16, rated for 16-gauge material.

Each brake is designed for box and pan forming as well as straight bending of hot and cold rolled plate, stainless steel, aluminum, and heavy plastic. Ample clamping and nose bar adjustments accommodate different bend radii, while welded steel plate construction and heavy truss rods and braces provide strength and rigidity.

The HBU Series features a removable apron insert for 1/4-inch bends in lighter material. Adjustable screws incorporate thrust bearings to help prevent upper beam creep, while ductile steel clamp handles, heavy counterweights, and an apron stop rod support reliable operation.

Case-hardened removable fingers provide long service life, making the HBU Series suitable for shop fabrication, prototype work, and short production runs.
