Overview
Tennsmith Air & Hydraulic Squaring Shears combine the proven features of Tennsmith foot shears with the speed and convenience of powered operation.
The 36A and 52A air-powered models use heavy-duty, tie-rod-type pneumatic cylinders and provide up to 40 strokes per minute in capacity materials. Standard air equipment includes a foot-operated air valve control, pressure regulator, air gauge, oiler/condensate cups, and neoprene-padded hold-down feet.
The 52H uses a low-maintenance hydraulic system and cycles at up to 45 strokes per minute. Its hydraulic unit features a solenoid-actuated valve, 3 HP electric motor, self-contained pump, pressure gauge, check valve, and industrial-quality cylinders. Electrical safety features include a low-voltage foot switch, magnetic starter, enclosed electrical box, and protected wiring.
All models are equipped with four-edge high-carbon/high-chromium (HCHC) blades. Standard equipment also includes a back gauge, front extension arms with stop, bevel gauge, and graduated side scales. A squaring arm is available as an option.
