Overview
The Vicon Coil Handling System provides an efficient, user-friendly method for loading and feeding coil material as part of a duct fabrication line.
Coils are spooled onto Vicon’s patented Coil Drum Assemblies and can be inserted into the coil material using a forklift. The coils can then be loaded into the cradles by forklift or crane, allowing one operator to manage the loading process.
Each coil station features an individual hydraulic drive motor and pneumatic backup wheels to provide positive material feed and help secure band removal on new coils. Each drive motor is retractable for safe material loading.
An underfed roller track guiding system directs the end of each coil to the infeed guide ramp of the duct blanking system. Automatic forward and reverse drive capability with slack loop sensing provides smooth, controlled material feeding throughout the system.
