Overview
The Vicon Patented Pittsburgh Seam Closer is designed to efficiently close Pittsburgh seams on ductwork from 16 to 26 gauge and 12″ to 60″ in length.
Vicon’s heavy-duty Single V forming roll closes the Pittsburgh seam from either side of the duct, eliminating the need to turn the duct section over to align the Pittsburgh edge with the forming wheels. This helps reduce material handling, labor, and production time.
The forming roll features heavy-duty bearings and shafts along with grease fittings for extended service life. A counterbalanced top clamp head provides quick, tool-free setup, while large removable clamp pads simplify cleanup of duct sealant. A heavy-duty roller chain drive eliminates the use of cables.
Manual or automatic push-button controls provide straightforward operation, and the machine includes a hydraulic power unit and 3 HP motor available in single- or three-phase voltage configurations. The Pittsburgh Seam Closer is designed to replace most existing seam closers without requiring pit modifications.
